V29.1 loaded up and working. The CD did get stuck and with UCrewX5's advice yesterday, I drove the M3 around for about 20 min and voila, the CD got ejected. Who knows why? Probably will get the dealer to look at getting me a replacement MK4 under warranty....

Anyhow, I now have 4-1/91.

I think the only difference I see while using Nav MAP 2007-1 for North America with Nav OS V29.1 is that in the "Input Destination Screen",

Instead of Country only (i.e. UNITED STATES vs. CANADA), now you have an option to select Country/State/Province....

For example, instead of just choosing UNITED STATES or CANADA, you can choose different STATES in the U.S. (e.g. MICHIGAN or CALIFORNIA) to help narrow your search for cities and/or street addresses or PROVINCES in Canada.

I don't think you could do that with V28 (unless I missed that last time).

So, let's say you are looking for MAIN STREET in NEW JERSEY, you can narrow the search to look for MAIN STREET only in NEW JERSEY and not the whole U.S.A.

Yep, that was there on V28.

So I went back to V28 - then my Map DVD (backup) locked up...the Nav unit displayed what looked like a really old menu/front end, so I upgraded back to V29...I now get CITY/PC however, no TMC...it doesn't matter what nav disc I put in, TMC will not enable..

What is wrong here?

Help appreciated.

Have you been into the rds menus to switch TMC back on and specify classic fm. or auto. also you need to turn it back on in traffic information menu - RDS-TMC or something.

If you downgraded then you may have put your system into euro mode and it will need to go back to the dealer for a recode or you can use navcoder software in this forum, with the right interfaces. euro mode is apparent by badly calculated arrival times, and it says car type 7er, in the service menu.

Thanks Eaglesrest...

I did go into the RDS menu, and tried to assign CLASSIC FM to the TMC, and it just sat there and timed out, however, I didn't know I needed to do the RDS - TMC...I'll try again this weekend when I'm home... Thanks!

So does the v.29 negate the need to press the AGREE button?

Tim.
Unfortunately I am encountering the same problem.
I can't switch on my TMC any more; I did try everything I found until now.
I don't know if it is related to the V29or not ...

Hi, I downloaded V29.1 yesterday and burned it to disk using nero. No problem burning disk. Loaded it into nav and it worked fine but i couldn't alter splash screen so i ended up going back to V28. Used navtweak to try to edit navboot file but couldn't find the splash screen .gif file so couldn't alter it. Anyone who has done this and has any info for me it would be greatly appreciated.

OK, I have tried this several times and cannot get it right. I followed shoimin's instructions to the T and when I insert the CD into the computer I get a message on the screen that says "Incorrect CD" Anyone have any thoughts?

What kind of media are you using? You can't use a CD-RW. Use a high quality CD-R for best results.
