Sorry for the n00b questions and TIA.
The BMW OS discs contain OS software for 7 (seven) different nav models, from those released in 1994 to the current model in the E65

V32 contained changes for the E65 nav, and no changes for any other navs.

This means that V31 and V32 both contain the identical OS version for the Mk4, being 4-1/100

You can use either V31 or V32, the result is the same.

The Mk4 will read CDs or DVDs, the OS disc is normally on a CD, but will load equally well from a DVD. But just leave it on the CD, its easier.

KJ, if I understand correctly, the only substantive change between 1/70 and 1/100 were changes in the input?

No, the substantive changes were:

1. Bug fixes for the Z4 and X3 with the flip-up display.
2. Compatibility with new map versions (dual-layer DVDs)
3. And some minor menu stuff

Won't work in my MK.II

I downloaded v.32 from the link in this thread, but it did not work in my MK.II v.16.
I burned the image with Nero (lowest speed-4x) and I followed the loading software instructions. But it still says 2-1/60.

When I ejected the map cd, the message "no navigation cd" was displayed. And when I inserted the software cd, nothing appeared on the screen.

Does anyone have an idea of what's wrong?
I've read somewhere that it should be burned with 2x speed...

Remember that all you need is any OS disk of Ver.21 OR higher to get the max of 2-1/81 for a MKII.

but when you open it with gif extractor you will see that it says V31

secondly, it will not upgrade a navi which has V31 - it happens when the software is not newer that the one already installed.

so i repeat - did anyone actually upgraded from V31 to V32?
