None. I have not had one in years, and I've had no problems at all. Not ONE virus, not ONE trojan horse... nothing. You see, to install anything on OSX, you (the user -- the owner or administrator of the machine) must actually approve it (enter password and allow it to install). Twice. Windows allows anyone to install anything on your machine in the background without your knowledge, which is why it's so suceptible to viruses. Not so with the Mac. Go ahead and buy an anti-virus application if it makes you feel better... but you won't need it.

You don't need antivirus software on macs. The only thing, that would be doing is preventing viruses from spreading onto more PC's. (Your mac would read an already infected file just fine and the virus would have no effect, but say if you sent it to a PC, the file could still effect the PC causing it to catch the virus...)

BTW Juan, I called my Apple Store and all they would tell me about Leopard was "sometime in Spring" :rofl: . In addition, the upgrade voucher is only good for 14 days from your date of purchase if a new OS is released. So I'm just going to wait until Leopard is officially shipping on new MacBooks.

Last question on this thread from me. I'm also thinking about getting the new Apple AirPort Extreme wireless router. The list price is $179.00, which is about $100 more than some higher end 802.11g standard routers. If it's 5X faster, and has 2X the distance capability of a 802.11g router, it seems like a wise investment to me. What do you experts think?

UPDATE: I'm sure you'll be glad to hear that I don't have any more questions :rofl: . I just placed my order since I have at least two trips planned prior to the release of Leopard, and I'll just decide later if I want to upgrade to that OS. The computer will be delivered as soon as Friday, and by Monday at the latest. I paid the extra $18.00 for 2 day shipping.

LATEST UPDATE: I can be such a dork sometimes :confused: . After I decided to not upgrade to 2GB of Ram, I am simply ordering a basic model. So why did I order it online when I could pick it up at my Apple store today, which is only 10min. away. So I called Apple and tried to cancel the order. She said that if I kept the order with them that she would credit me $60. Then after a little more sweet talking to her, she decided to credit me the $18.00 2 day shipping fee. I now saved a total of $78.00 by keeping my order with them, and it should still show up on Friday :D. So with the savings, I'm going to pick up the Apple wireless Bluetooth mouse at the Apple Store for $69.00.
