No! You keep both. Safari is required for some things, firefox for other things.

Also in your system preferences there's an application call software update. Run it the first chance you get. This will update your software and and other critical system issues. For now update everything. In the future there can be further discussion about weather some updates need a few weeks before updating.

I am browsing the posts using my BARE MINIMUM WHITE MACBOOK(512MB MEM).

1. I upgraded HDD from 60GB to 160 for additional $130, I still have 60G HDD I harvested. It is cheaper this way than buying the upgraded version. Very easy upgrade. I thought you might need more space to keep your pictures.;)
2. Using the Bootcamp I am also running Windows XP Pro. It works flawless! One thing I don't like is the location of the Ctrl-key and lack of Backspace-Key when I am using XP.
(Don't mess up the order if you are going to do the upgrade, otherwise you will have problems.)

I read somewhere the new MacBook Pro has Draft-N modem shipped unannounced and it cost $10 to activate them. I don't know if it applies to MacBook. I have D-Link N router at home, and a N-card on my laptop. It is really fast and works pretty well. (I think that is equivalent to new Airport.)
If you have multiple computers networked via Gbs Switches and cable, and moves lots of large files, having N router, or Airport Extreme(?) is justifiable to my opinion.

I am a minimalist when it comes to computing. No bragging rights on having Extra RAMs unless I use it. But when it comes to having how much HP under myhood, (or my pants) that is completely different story. I worked as a cross-platform multi-media apps developer while back, anything involves moving larger files Macs work lot better without goofing off like windows.

I love my MacBook! I am so sold on iPhone. I am buying apple stocks.

there are some applications and plugins required to access some sites which don't accept safari. i agree with Quicksilver, get firefox too.

off-topic: when you open firefox, does a firefox icon appear on the desktop that cannot be deleted without having it reappear when you start firefox again?

I think your opening the disk image. What you have to do is mount the disk image, then drag Firefox to Applications or wherever you want to keep it. That way, you don't have to keep reopening and mounting the disk image every time you want to use Firefox...

Been trying to do that for days... I thougt it was me. ( it usually is )

Thanks Jon! I bought the Airport Extreme which does have 802.11/n. The new MacBook has it as well. You just need to upgrade the software provided with the Aiport to activate it. I did that yesterday. Even though my home PC is a 3GHz P4, this laptop is a good 5 times faster at loading pages etc..., and that is when operating wirelessly from my patio which is about 40 feet away from my office. Even though I have only had it 2 days I LOVE IT! As they say, once you go Mac you never go Back :). Here's an example, itunes takes about 30 seconds or so to open on my PC. It takes less than 2 seconds to open with the laptop. Nice :thumbup:
