^Pricing at Buds on the PPQ 45 is pretty decent now, $560 shipped + FFL and taxes/fees - All my LGS's only have the 9mm in stock - a couple months ago it was about $50 more so prices seem to have subsided but yes I fully agree with them on the Gun of the Year

Yeah, prices are dropping on the PPQs. They were $699 when I started looking at them.
Did some draw/double tap/mag change/slid drop/double tap (starting with 1 in chamber & 1 in mag). really like how the mags shoot out of the PPQ (no mag drop "flip" needed). |
I'm between the P320 Compact and the G19 for the most part for my next purchase - my LGS has both in stock and I have 3 permits incoming, 1 has to be saved for my Model 102 Beretta.
The P320 Compact is advantageous because of the Caliber X-change kit, since I'm still in the Peoples Republic of New Jermany it would be nice to have the Compact size and the 15-rounds for range days, HD, etc, but changing to a Subcompact with 12 rounds for south of Maryland carrying (my in laws are living on the OBX now) with a non-resident FL permit would be like having best of both worlds, without having to use a dedicated permit on a separate subcompact gun. However, at the $400 Sig charges for the kit, which comes with 1 mag, its almost a wash. A G26 or dedicated subcompact could be had for $150 more out the door with 3 mags, which is why the G19 appealed to me (could use G19 mags as backup if I purchased a G26, etc). Does Sig still give you a 20% off coupon to use at their store when you register your warranty? That may help, if the conversion kit was $320 as opposed to $400. I'm not as big of a dude as you so even in Compact form the P320 is a bit big for me if I was down south and CCW. Was thinking about adding a subcompact .45 (Springfield XD Mod 2, or G30, although I've heard both can be like bricks) but after your impressions I'm probably going to save for another full size .45 like the PPQ. The rest of Walther's lineup doesn't appeal to me currently except for the PPQ, the single stack PPS M2 did, until I learned the mag release is not ambidextrous, and I wasn't crazy about the lower capacity. The PPQ .22 looks fun as heck to shoot as target pistol and with .22LR CCI Mini-Mags would be formidable as well, at almost half the price of the regular PPQ its definitely something fun to consider as well, for range days. |
I'm pretty sure Sig is only giving the 20% off coupon to those purchasing Legion Series products now, these are around 50% more then the standard P Series products.

Ew boo to that then - I guess that won't influence my decision much - at $400 for the Subcompact conversion kit I may as well buy the full P320 Subcompact and have 2 guns. I'll ask my FFL to be sure though -

Update: Glock Gen 4 here I come -
One of the local forum members gave me a good tip that putting in $60 for a 2 year GSSF membership gets you a coupon now and 1 in a year from now to purchase a Glock at Blue Label pricing (allowed 1 per year at discounted price as a GSSF member) - so I'll be picking up a G19 or G26 (whichever they have in stock) for $425 plus tax as opposed to $545-575 plus tax at retail which is what the LGS's sell them for - Will post pics in a few weeks once my permits come in and I can pick it up. I debated the Sig 320 and decided by the time I bought the Subcompact conversion I'd have a ton of money in technically one gun. With this GSSF membership I can have 2 Glocks for the price of one Sig 320 with the Subcompact conversion kit - and the Gen 4's come with a 3rd mag from the factory (Sig supplies 2) and have the smallest grip option installed out of the box, with the ability to go bigger if needed with the supplied backstraps - Sig supplies one grip module and if you want a different fit its another $40  |
Wow, that's a good deal.
Yeah, the Sigs are up there (one of the reasons I'm retiring the P227 from carry duty to gun safe). Would rather loose/damage/have the authorities take away as evidence after defensive discharge a plastic PPQ then the big $ all metal Sig. |

My buddy said his brother just bought a P226 - beast of a gun. |
Good idea on the GSSF! I forget about it as I've never been a member.
If you want to get new sights, check out the big dot Ameriglo sights. I've got them on both my Glocks and the 2 dots are very quick and easy to line up. Plus the big orange dot is highly visible and the tritium glows brightly in dim light. https://ameriglo.com/products/glock-...ant=7554821953 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I've heard of people retiring their fancy carry 1911's for just this reason. It's not a bad idea. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
