Awesome! I wish I had an FFL friend, for the most part I don't buy any firearms online unless its something my dealer doesnt stock or the price is so smoking I can't resist - lowest transfer fee around here is about $30
Let me know how you like it when it arrives! I am torn between that and the Sig P320 for my next 45 - the P320 would be nice as I could get the Subcompact conversion in the future to have an alternate carry option |
Will do.
Didn't get it ordered last night. Came home to a warm fridge yesterday. Had to pull out 3 Yeti coolers and get 40lbs of dry ice, unload and troubleshoot (of course, did a massive shop a few day ago and PACKED it). Not a simple fix, looks like an open winding in the inverter compressor (thermal resistors control pulse width modulation to set compressor speed, not a simple system). Been dealing with home warranty/repair company. Tuesday PM is BS. Always something! |
True - trust me I know how it is - I have to go birthday shopping for the wife tomorrow, stop by my LGS to pick up my pistol, power wash the house, trim the hedges and bushes, clean out the gutters, and change the oil on my mower this weekend. Would like to get my motorcycle out if I have time as I haven't ridden it since early June - been way too busy this year.
Buds is like Amazon - their prices shift every few days - lucky for you the PPQ 45 is still $550 today :) |
Yeah, I'm heading out to do the lawn work now (before it hit 100 this afternoon).

If you're gonna get a PPQ, get it in 9mm. |

PPQ is the top contender but I'm going in the AM. The local shop also has that Sig P320 Compact 9mm in stock which I want to check out in person, it has the FDE grip frame which I'm not huge on, but I'd like to see how well built it is in person - people REALLY speak highly of the P320. And of course they have the Glock 19 which I already love and haven't decided if I want to wait next year to get it. So it will be a tough decision tomorrow AM! |
The 1911 is the benchmark for .45acp.
I was looking at the new Colt Competition review last week, heck of a piece for $900. Still want the PPQ 45, if for nothing more then the intuitive double/triple tap performance on multiple targets (makes me look better then I actually am). |
Yeah I have an entry level Taurus 1911 - it's been solid, reliable and a nice shooter - stainless with some rosewood grips I guess it's my "BBQ gun" lol - maybe a higher end model someday, but as a southpaw I do appreciate features like ambi mag and slide releases, and unless I'm mistaken you have to spend serious 1911 coin to get lefty features.
I read that review on the Colt as well - great piece for sure. Sig P320 also comes in 45ACP - I would like a compact one of those and still have the ability to convert to a 45 subcompact bc of the modular chassis. Oh, and ended up with the Walther PPQ M2 9mm yesterday! I pick it up tomorrow, and hopefully my X5. Wife thinks it's gorgeous looking and it just feels so good in the hand. I'll add a Glock 19 next year with my GSSF renewal coupon - I almost had to get it yesterday as its another just absolutely natural feeling pistol - but since I just got a G26 - "variety is the spice of life" as edogg would say. |
Yeah, the PPQ grip has been an evolution of perfecting the grip/feel of the PPS grip.
The more you shoot it, the better it feels. Some 45s are uncontrollable after several mags are dumped quick. Walther has been obsessing over this grip for years and it shows. The gun reviewing press all gave it 5 stars. |
Spent the afternoon at the grand opening of my FFL friends new Dallas shop.
