A few weeks ago a federal judge in Omaha sentenced a woman to 1 YEAR of probation for illegally buying a gun for her felon boyfriend (FFL pawnshop).

The boyfriend was a convicted felon and known gangbanger at the time of purchase. He used the firearm to kill police officer Kerrie Orozco, who was arresting him in connection to ANOTHER shooting. Kerrie was working her LAST shift before taking deferred medical leave to care for her premature newborn baby, (was being released from the hospital THAT evening!!!).

This POS gangbangers girlfriend COULD have been sentenced to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

Funny how the lamestream media dropped the ball on covering this story. Seems it doesn't meet the "more laws needed to stop cop shootings" agenda!

Here in Texas, we've had open carry for 1 week now, seen dozens of responsible CHL citizens open carrying and......no killing! How is this possible?

^Do the criminals care about the price or legality of purchase? Who suffers then if its harder and more expensive? You guessed it, the LAW ABIDING CITIZEN. Bad enough I already can't get a CCW in my state.

I also have a real issue when he did state in that garbage address that "Right now, violent felons can go on the internet and purchase a firearm without a background check" - Yes, maybe they can ILLEGALLY. But for me and all the law abiders here, I don't know if there is a special AmazonGuns section of Prime Membership, but when I order from CheaperThanDirt for example, um, they send to my FFL dealer who does the background check prior to pickup.

Sigh. I cannot stand blatant lies and talking points. The phrase "common sense" is being thrown around and repeated so much so people think its actually true.

Actually there is a range in my state where you can actually purchase a class to literally build an AR, they teach you to build it from scratch and disassembly as well and full instruction on the chassis - the class is 8 hours over 2 days and is $2,000 but when you are done you have a legally built and functioning AR rifle - I'm going to take it next year sometime or later this year if funds allow

Avoid Cheaper Than Dirt...they often aren't cheaper and have some surprisingly anti 2A business practices.

Holy crap, $2,000 for an AR and 8 hours of instruction to assemble it?

If you can work on a BMW, you can build an AR from parts. You dont need to take an expensive class on it.

All you need is a clean sturdy workbench with a bench vise and a few hand tools.

The thing to watch out for is that being in NJ you need to use certain parts as there are a few retarded gun laws you need to work around. But there are plenty online resources to guide you on that too.
