I still think the above adapter would be nice for accessories that feature cradles, because I don't need a 4' cable hanging off the side of my clock radio, so a nice short adapter would be perfect.

DICE is coming out with 3G-compatible cables and will be packaging them with the kits when they arrive. For those with earlier/present-day cables - they will be available for purchase.

Tom, I just got the Silverline for my non DSP 01 X5 and I followed the set up instructions perfectly and all I get on my display is the word "attached". I unplugged the 3 pin 4 times, that didn't work. I reset my Ipod, no go. I even reset the Dice module, nothing. Any thoughts?

Are you resetting the iPod while still attached to the DICE?

MusicCity 08-07-2008 04:58 PM

No, I reset it unattached. Should I leave it attached during the reset?

No, the iPod cannot be connected while rebooting. You may need a battery reset, perform the following steps:

1. Disconnect iPod from cable
2. Remove battery cables, negative first
3. Touch battery cable terminals together (away from battery) for +5 seconds, a small spark is normal as this is stored power draining from the system.
4. Allow cables to remain disconnected for about 5-7 minutes
5. Reconnect battery cables onto battery, negative last.
6. Reboot iPod by pressing on MENU and CENTER buttons for +5 seconds and then reconnecting to the DICE cable after the reboot process is completed.

Let me know if these steps correct the problem

Thanks for the help Tom. When I got back in my X it just started working. Weird. But I'm happy, and it sounds terrific. Not exactly CD quality but 90% at least. Thanks for all your help.

Static, Ticking-like noise

Help, I have a 2006 X3. I am getting consistent a static ticking-like noise from my Dice Silverline unit (its always there). I hear the noise when the ipod is playing at low volume and at higher volumes during low parts of a song. The noise is also there when there is no ipod is attached.

The dice is located in the center console with the cables routed as instructed (in the center console). I have also tried with the cables and the dice outside of the console on the seat with the car running and not running. This noise is always there. I believe the noise/ static seems more apparent when there is scrolling on my Business CD. Dice has already replaced the main harness and the cable that runs to the ipod. The noise is still there. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It would be that your X3 is extremely sensitive and need a radio-interface harness or Ground Loop Isolator to rid of the noise.

Thanks Tom. How does the radio-interface cable connect. are there instructions somewhere I can take a look at? I have pulled the radio before so I am familiar with that. I am interested in where the connection is made on the radio and where the dice sits after installed. Thanks again
