PLEASE HELP.

I have a 2006 BMW X5. Here are my options:
1) No navigation
2) Business CD
3) No CD Changer
4) Satellite radio
5) BMW Assist with bluetooth enabled.
6) DSP

I am willing to disconnect my satellite radio, since I do not use it (nor a subscriber).

Is it true that Dice Silverline Pro will not work for me since I have BMW Assist?
I installed Dice today and it seems to work, but I have no audio.

Please tell me I didn't waste my entire afternoon installing, just to find out that Dice will not work in my car?

BMW assist has nothing to do with qualification/compatibility.

Its rare that a MY06 has Digital DSP, the Sirius input (analog) supports this even further. Simply choose the Analog DSP kit on our site and we'll have it shipped the same or very next day.

Thanks for the reponse. I have your analog kit. And I do have analog DSP.
I disconnected the Sirrus connections and installed the two harnesses to the Dice kit.

My X5 head unit controls the iPOD, but I do not get any audio.
I disconnected the car battery all night and tried it again- still no audio.
I reset my ipod - still no audio.
The display shows the right song, it correctly shows when I connect and disconnect the ipod - still no audio.

I bring up the BMW Assist because several web sites say it is not compatible- For example:
I-BMW-T/5V "Silverline/PRO" 1996-2009 BMW-to-iPod™ Interface Plus Aux Input
"NOT compatible with BMW Assist equipped vehicles. "

any silver bullets?

The website you have linked is giving incorrect info.

Do you have an OEM CD Changer present we cab test the connections with?

Text AND Control at iPOD

Tom,

Please LMK if I have this right- I can either have:

1. Full text display and control my iPod from the NAV and Steering Wheel in my 2001 X5 (by having 2 iPOD config dip switches in OFF position) OR

2. Control from the iPOD, NAV, and Steering Wheel but lose the text display (by having the 2 iPOD config dip switches in ON position).

Is there a setting that allows all the Control of #2 with the Text Display still functional?

Thank you.

On a SILVERLINE PRO kit, you would want the DIP switches in the following positions: UP UP UP DOWN, this is called Smart Mode.

This will allow the Clickwheel to remain unlocked, while keeping text display active.

Dip Switches for Control and Text Display

Tom,
Thanks for the quick reply.

I did the dip switches as stated.

I got control back on the iPOD and get the following when selecting CD6 Track6:

*SEL: iPOD*

**DICE**

Basically, not getting the text display.

I reset the iPOD by holding the top and center buttons and also disconnected the 2 DICE cables for a minute.

What did I do incorrectly?

You're seeing text display if you are seeing those messages. You are also in CD5, which is your Source Selection mode.

Press CD1 to enter into song mode and you should be ok.

Dice Text Display

Tom,

Thanks for helping, but it just doesn't show text in Smart Mode. Is there a firmware upgrade to the unit or something else I can try?

I even put the iPOD in HOLD mode before reconnecting after a reset of the DICE unit and iPOD.

Has the unit been verified the latest firmware has been installed?

Instructions on how to do so can be found on DICE's Firmware Support Page: DICE Electronics LLC - DRIVE | LIVE | ACCESSORIZE - Firmware Update
