:dunno: Can you read? I was asking about the Dice Silverline Pro on a MKIV, not an E90 M3. I said I would like to find a system that works like the I-Drive iPod system, but not sure if any do...

so can the 3 questions be answered?

There is not a system with iDrive-like capabilities for your e46, sorry.

Correction - YOU don't sell a system with iDrive-like capabilities for the E46.

Are you speaking of the Intravee II? or is there another system out there I don't know about?

I just installed the Intravee II in my wife's E53 X5 & it is almost there & THAT is why I'm inquiring about the Dice Silverline Pro and if it would function better than the Intravee II. The reason I asked the 3 questions I did, is because Intravee II (well actually the Alpine unit needed) doesn't allow these things to happen.

Opinions are up to the end user.

The SILVERLINE PRO utilizes the most used features of the iPod to your steering wheel or radio controls and is a fraction of the cost of the Intravee.

Intravee-related discussions can be continued in a different thread since this is a DICE-specific support thread.

I have a 2002 E39 M5 with boot mounted 6 CD changer, I have enquired about the Denison setup but the installers cried off. Is the Dice setup an easy install or will I have to trawl cables to and from the boot?

Thaks for any info. you can give.

Dave

Due to the SatNav, you will need the trunk interface kit - you may or may not have digital DSP, we have a tech article on this subject here:

https://www.europeanautosource.com/s...mod_id=2&id=11

Since this is a trunk interface kit, it will require the cable be run into the cabin area where iPod placement is desired.

Ok, I see, just how much of a bugbear is the installation?

Since M5s have fold down seats, getting the cable to the cabin area is very easy, most people will place the iPod in the glovebox.

DVAPower 10-10-2009 01:06 AM

Err.. my UK spec. M5 doesnt have fold down rear seats, it has a solid bulkhead and one piece rear seat back and of course the glovebox is on the other side from a stateside one, I'll have a trawl around the boot and rear squab and see how easy it might be, What dimensions are the connector and cable as these will need to be fished/routed?

Thanks

Dave
