Tom, does this mean that when the iPod is left connected to the DICE unit and is not used for a while (days, weeks) that it will lose its charge? My 6th generation Classic was completely drained the other day and it had been attached to the DICE unit the whole time, although I had not used it for several days. This never happened with my older (non-USB charging) iPod. Is there a difference between the way USB-charging and non-USB charging iPods behave in this respect, or is there something wrong with my DICE or cable? Thanks.

Correct, this is done so to prevent excessive battery drain on your X5 when not in use.

03 4.4 with trunk interface Dice

Hi Tom,

I'm getting a display that says my Ipod is 'paused' and I can't seem to shift it into any other function. The Ipod classic I've been using from day one seems ok. will a battery terminal reboot fix this or is it something else?

David

Was the iPod left in the vehicle overnight? If so - perform a hard reset on the iPod and reconnect when the reboot process has completed.

The SILVERLINE kits do use the VOL nav dial to change tracks in iPod mode - I can see this happening. You will need to disconnect the iPod or switch to a different mode.

Hey Tom; I just finish installing my DICE w/ radio interface. So far everything seems to be working but I have a couple of questions: 1. With the Radio interface do I need to keep a cd in the changer because if I remove either the CD cassette or all the cd the radio just tells me that Cassette empty and dosent play the IPOD. 2. If I leave a CD in the CD cassette it recognizes that cd number and I have to press the toggle button and it will quickly flash the number 1-6 so I can then toggle the playlist. is this normal?

Text but no sound

Hi Tom,

I've installed a trunk interface dice module in my 05 X3 w/ Nav(not sure if dsp or not).

After rebooting, reseting, and reinitializing I finally get text but no sound except static.

Could my problem be that I have dsp?

I've included pics of my set up and a pic of connectors.

Thanks for your help,
Larry

Those are the telephone connectors, it's most likely you are Analog DSP, meaning the Digital converter is not needed.
