Hi Tom,

I have a 2001 X5 with Nav and DSP (coax cable). I just upgraded the head unit from the 4:3 screen to the 16:9 screen. Which kit will work for me?

Background noise

Tom,
I hear a lot of bakground noise coming from my DICE/IPOD unit. But as soon as I physically touch the controls on the IPOD, the noise will disppear for about 5 seconds and then return. The noise senerio I just discribed happens about 5 minutes of playing the IPOD. Can you help?

Thanks!

Is the backlight on your iPod? Is there a considerable amount of difference with the backlight on/off?

For the noise to go away the backlight has to come on (i.e. when I touch the controls) and the noise returns when the light goes off.

Sounds like an open ground loop or the module is picking up interference. Where is the DICE module located?

The module is located in the same compartment in the trunk as the Nav and cd changer.

There are a lot of electrical devices in there - try relocating the module to a different area to see if the noise is reduced/eliminated.
