Do you have a mk3 or a mk4??

lordviper 01-10-2011 05:03 AM

mk4 e53 x5 mate.

thanks!

Ok.

Edit (with a hex editor), (do both files to keep the SW and Lang in sync).

1: /V_2/RR/0101/BMWC01S/lng_rel.tbl with (10010507Voices/0507/)
2: /V_2/RR/0101/BMWC01S/sw_rel.tbl with (1001app_sw/)

And make up a new number (or use the number above).

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

thanks for the response mate, but i think ive bricked my nav.

i tried with 4 different copies, all verbatim 2x.

each one said that the disc was invalid.

and now my nav unit takes ages to boot and shows weird colours on the menu.

any ideas on how to fix and reach my original goal?

thanks

I have a 2005 E53, MkIV, all original. Going to V32.

Two questions:

1) Been reading alot here, but can't figure out how to use NavTweak to skip the Accept Screen. Going to UK mode isn't acceptable (Family wants US mode kept). I see that strings 706 through 712 are for the text, and string 713 is the button label. Is there something I can do here (like make them blank?)

2) I'll use ImgBurn to burn the CD, but what's "mode 1" vs "mode 2"? Haven't encountered that before.

TIA!

Do not force the write speed mate, use the discs recommended minimum speed, so if that's x4 use x4 if its x8 then uses that.

It would.

That does not sound good mate.

Yes, flush the corrupted flash with a known good copy of OEM OS, (mode2 just to make sure, again at the slowest rated speed of the blank), then try your custom version (with modded version number).

Can't help you with that I'm afraid.

The mk4 will accept both mode1 and mode2 formatted discs so don't worry about it (a mk3 must use a mode2 BTW).
