c'mon you must love the snow if you are planning to move to East Coast

Well, I think we tend to be a bit biased when we give our responses because after you've lived in a place for a while, you learn all the negatives about it and start complaining. A lot of kids here think of Cali as their dream destination in terms of where they want to work and live (not me, no offense). You get used to the "goodness" of your own place and complain about the bad stuff.

NC, SC, and Georgia would get my choice for best places to live on the East Coast. Cost of Living isn't sky-high, weather is fairly temperate, and a number of cities have good growth potential.

i always loved CA eversince i moved here in 1993 and loved the good stuffs, but cost of living is just crazy especially the housing market. I've always seen that part, though it was not as bad a decade ago but still. A guy who bought a 700K house few years ago has realized that it is now valued at $500K and he owes more than the value is just an example of how bad it has become. When i look at other houses in other states that looks identical and sometimes even better than CA houses, and yet they pay a lot less on their mortgage and property taxes, it makes me envy them.

I heard monkey junction (?) in SC or NC is a pretty good area. I wonder about the employment section....

you do your work at home? (meaning you can live just about anywhere) or do you plan to transfer to another company division? (meaning you have limited areas to chose from) or do you figure to find another job with another company? Why the east coast? Frankly, just about anywhere is less expensive than CA. Got to narrow it down, or are you just venting?

Heck...Just pick another place in California. The South Bay is one of the most expensive places to live in Northern California. Good thing about IT and the medical industry is IT is where everything is going. Tracking results, patient demographics, interfaces, reporting, HIPA security you name it there is an IT solution. Soon everyone will be going this route.

Being in Laboratory I'm knee deep in requests for interfaces and IT solutions.

i prefer a different company (sshhhhh...)
