I believe the emphasis was on being just.
Real Justice has nothing to do with money
but that appears to be a concept beyond
the comprehension of most people.

Instead (as usual) the emphasis is on "ME FIRST".
I'll get mine and the rest of you can just die.

Quick, it does to have to deal with money when you are discussing taxing harder worker more to benefit lesser valued workers. If you wanted to be just, the only federal tax would be a federal sales tax.

You've hit on the fundamental difference between Liberals and Conservatives.

So success ==> you support others by force

I guess if everyone worked at the same level that could work....but that is NEVER true.

Wonderful
I think that the wealthier should be taxed at a progressive tax rate, ie not a flat tax. You seem to be suggesting that I am asking for tax increases, as opposed to defending aspects of the current taxation systems. You are perhaps promoting a flat tax, like many eastern European countries? How workable is that?

Yes, I like Canada. You are welcome to visit

When did force enter into the discussion? I didn't know that charity (my example) was a forced activity, I sort of thought the whole voluntary aspect was what defined it as charity.

OK maybe you missed the idea here. Obama wants to selectively increase taxes and then spend those funds on charity efforts. Hence the government FORCING you (as you'd go to jail if you don't pay).

I disagree that I am measuring it by the dollar. You keep bringing it back to money. "Just" doesn't mean the same price.

In an early post in this thread, you defined wealth as "your money". I thought wealth meant assets, not cash.

What?!? Taxing harder worker more to benefit lesser valued workers? Are you listening to what you are saying?

What classifies a person as a hard worker? Do you measure that in dollars earned or effort?

Lesser valued worker? WTF does that mean?

Try to keep your eye on the ball. We're talking dollars here, so less value would equal less dollars.
