To personalize it I currently pay over $700 per month for health coverage for me and my family. No one in my family smokes, we are young, not overweight, and relatively healthy. Why such a high monthly premium? Because over the years there have been some individuals working for the law firm and their family who weren't so healthy. There have been several major hospitalizations, a few medical related deaths, two instances of prostate cancer, one breast cancer, etc...etc. So, in essence, the health of others in my group affects my premium.

As for not being in the "Me First" group, it does not require you to become a pauper to help others. I give both my time and money to several organizations, including my church. What I mean by not being part of the "Me First" group is that I believe that most social programs have merit and have a place in this world. In fact, there was a time in my life when I needed the assistance of food stamps, wic, and unemployment benefits to get to where I am. So I understand the importance of governmental social programs. So although I don't like paying higher taxes, I try not to bitch and moan when asked to... because just as I needed the assistance, I understand that someone else who is not as fortunate as I am may need help. Is the system perfect? No. Will some deadbeats get a free ride? Probably. But you don't throw the baby out with the bathwater.

I watched the first one and only limited parts of the next two because I honestly hate when both of them start throwing out random dollar amounts on how much the other wants to spend and how many time the other has voted for this or that. I just try to read up the next day on the major points.

Like I said, you are not going to get an argument out of me as far as health care is concerned. I was paying nearly $400 per month for just my wife and I who were under 30 with no major issues at the time. I agree that health care is out of control. One of my issues is that Obama has promised so much that some things will have to be put on the back burner. What he decides to focus on will remain to be seen if he is elected. Somehow, I am not sure we will be better off as far as health care is concerned if he is elected at the end of the day.

I have noticed that people will believe what they want to believe. It is like the story on taxes, the candidate has on several instances explained his proposal but somehow, people still want to remain in the inexplicable bubble they live in.

Which poll question are you referring to as being interesting, the original one or the one that was inserted after people answered the original one?

I don't watch Fox news, but is this how Fox news gets their results too? If so, it would explain a lot.

Likely, yes. No one has owned up to the 'joke'. It is less funny when the poll is set up to show the names of who voted.
