You're right, that's what the site says. I have an earlier info sheet from BMW that says 7.2 for the 210kW/580Nm engine. Perhaps they got a lighter test driver second time around?

Should be much the same. It all has to meet the same Australian standard. Some Caltex has 5% biodiesel which is probably best avoided. Outlets with high turnovers are probably a better bet too. The longer the fuel stays in the underground tanks, the more chance of it becoming contaminated - especially in the older servos.

Exactly. Most important performance spec for me is from 80 - 120km/h, or in that general range. Typical scenario being when you come up behind a slow vehicle that's doing say 80, or even 70, or 90 for that matter on a country road, and you want to get past as fast, and therefore as safely, as you can.

Currently there's either the Sports option or the M-Sport option. Both include wheels (either 19s or 20s) and suspension change (firmer, no lowering) but the rest of the detail varies. M-Sport has more bells and whistles. I'm not sure how they will configure the post-June range (30d, 40d, 35i, and 50i) but I'm sure there will something equivalent. They may drop the M-Sport option at first, and then it back after the novelty of the new model starts to wane.

got it.

pretty much decided on the current 3.0d, Innovation, Sports Pack (19"), roof. Black on Black. has anyone received any current quotes on similar spec.? is <$100k doable on a new car?

In Australia, M-Sport is avail immediately as most model engines in the LCI from memory ... has quite a few options as standard..

.dee - answering your <$100k question may depend on 1) have you found what you want that is available (i.e. in stock)? if so then current incentive runout bonus, diesel credit, corp discount, and negotiation should get you just below that mark drive-away - push hard my son.

if its 2010 MY factory order - then perhaps a little more (say $105k) ..but you can get exactly what you want. If its a 2011 (whcih doesnt sound like it) ..then not a chance ..+ you'll be waiting until July/Aug I suspect ....

I suspect if its 3d innovation then its on the yard somewhere in Australia right? if so then youi'll be right I reckon ..often it means that one dealer has to haggle with another to get their hand on runout stock ... most of the time they play well together as a 'network' ..but when pressure is on (esp for popular colours, specs etc) they can be a bit 'precious' if you know what I mean ..good luck.
