In terms of pricing it pays to remember that tarrif reductions dont affect 4WD ..no dont expect any relief ..the saviour will more likely be the strong exchange rate which will mean the Aus spec vehicles should get more fruit and hold the line on current costs ....
anzer, if you do trade it in for the new one, I would be interested in how much trade you get?

Following DMS remap

I have booked in on WED and pick up next day in the moring, it will cost $2450.

I have talked to my mate who worked in BMW, and he doesn't recommend to do it. Because first you lost warranty for upgrading ECU, second if you do have some problems with car, they always say that's because of the upgrade, and he also mentioned overheating issues.

thanks in advance if you can share with your thoughts and experience.

Two of us on the forum have 3.0d that have a stalling issue at the moment and people in the U.S have reported it on their 35d , if you remap then get the issue they may not cover it under warranty...something to bear in mind ...

I'd take the advice of your mate who works (worked?) at BMW.

if you have $10k to spend, which X5 models would you get? xdrive35i or xdrive30d? the turbo twin-power I6 petrol variant sounds very tempting!

I go the 40d (replacing the 35d) or the 30d over the 35i. But I live in out the country and diesels make a lot of sense out here given that premium grade petrol is super expensive and hard, if not impossible, to get in a lot of places. The fact that diesel gives you such a good touring range (I get 1000km+ from my E53 30d) is a major bonus for country driving.

We drive 99% the burbs and I reckon

the best I'll get from my 35d when run in is something like 13L/100 - and we do less than 7500km per year, so I reckon going back to petrol might work if we get lower diesel noise/vibration etc ... I just didnt want the pissy 3.0 and the 4.8i just seemed a little torque lacking ..I suspect the 50i will sort that problem out ..in saying that I bet the RRP for all these go up over current pricing ..BMW Aus will justify via extra goodies I suspect ...we'll see.

Must admit I'm a little pissed that BMW Aus did not mention these updates coming so soon this year given I purchased in December ..my fault really as I knew these changes were coming but didnt want to wait up to a year ..which was really only 6 months if they are June deliveries ..

You must be a lead foot or there is something wrong with your X. Even with 100% 'burb driving you should get 11s..

Thumbs down Both I suspect ...

I only have 900km on it ..so arguably not run in .. I am a little lead footed ..but not off every light .. so not happy so far with 14.1 showing up as avg consumption. How do you reset the avg consumption trip? My 14 may be because its been in the shop running on idle etc whilst they are fixing it ... may also explain my fuel pump replacement which is happening right now ...

I agree with Fraser, 13l does sound unusually high
