Quick question re 4.8 vs 35d purchase decision

Did any of you guys drive the 4.8i and consider it before settling on 35d due to better torque delivery?

What kind of stalling prob are you having? The car just stalls out of the blue? Or only under certain circumstances?

If I get my 35d back tomorrow and it 'stalls'

then I'm going to put lemon stickers all over the bright and beautiful alpine white exterior and park it outside the dealership for all perspective customers to see

we now have an official three failure you're out agreement ...

Aint pissy 3.0 anymore..all new xdrive35i are fitted with turbocharged valvetronic engine. The new BMW TwinPower Turbo develops 225 kW with maximum torque of 400 Newton-metres, sounds very promising!

Don't forget 8 sp auto also

Which is more reason for vast performance increase. The petrol will be faster than my 35d off the mark, but in real world won't have an edge as I think 400nm is still too low given 2100kg bulk. I think 40d will be very poular depending on price

I'm new here

Hello everyone - I am in Perth and about to take delivery of my new X5 35d. Mineral Green with Saddle leather, 20" style 214s and the Sort & innovations packages. Can't wait.

Question - Has anyone out there got any positive comments to make about Auto Classic (the ONLY BMW dealer in WA) The talk of LEMON stickers makes me think of them!!!!! I'd appreciate any feedback Thanks, Archie

Happy as a Pig in S%*# with my X5

G'day All,
Been reading some unhappy owner comments just thought i would throw my 2 bobs worth in. I took delivery of my X5 diesel in October 2007 heaps of extras but stayed with the 18" rims, I put on self levelling suspension, comfort seats , xenon lights, GPS, rear camera, phone, sun roof, running boards, adapative head lights, high beam assist, tow bar and electric brake wiring and controller, luggae mats, external mirrors, mud flaps, cargo net thats about it. Space Grey Black upholstery.Had body coated and interior treated as well. Bamboo dark trim ohh and a diesel. Only 30,000 km up mainly trips tows a caravan like a dream around 13.5L per 100k. general running around 8.5l 100K. Never had a problem except for a programming error dealer forgot to allow for towing caravan cooling would not work until re programmed. BMW gave me a work around while i was on the road and it all worked. My opinion, looks great, drives terrific, quiet and efficient. Had a momentary lapse of concemntration passing another van put foot down and looked at speed 120km hmmm it can pull. Happy owner.

Wouldn't say I'm unhappy I've done same # of k's as you... but I have an issue at least 1 other 3.0d owner has on same MY as yours... so I'm sure us beta testers will identify a SIB that will help others !!!!

We're gonna just keep it another night to do cold start test ....

this is a joke .. day after day now the dealership calls and they are scared to let it out of the workshop incase it poos its pants again .. I suspect the dealer principal has told the workshop guys to test EVERYTHING ..because they know if it shits itself again the vehicle is getting swapped out for something a bit more long term ... fingers crossed that's the last of the major glitches ...
