It would be nice to have a button to force a full lock. Done properly it should disengage when speed exceeds certain limit. That would be very useful when trying get moving from stand still on...

One method is to tap on the side of hub where the ball joint taper is attached and goes through the hub. This gives an impact to a jammed joint taper and ball joint drops off by itself.

Do you have 3.0d? It's quite common to have a crack in exhaust manifold in these. They start to whistle especially under acceleration and also loose some low end torque.

I had the same problem. Dealer took care of it, since you can't change just the connector gasket. It requires removing the oil pan thus oil needs to be changed as well.

Looking at the engine bay there's a hatch at the back of the light housing. Opening the hatch you should see two bulbs with connectors. Angel Eye bulb is the lower of the two.

Well, the ballast can break down too, but it's not that common. If you suspect that this might be the case, you could test it with a bulb from the other side (if that's working ok).
