It is hard to explain, but it just looks more expensive in my book. I had alpine white on me e70 and mineral white on my f15 and as much as I liked alpine white, mineral white is just a step up...

I have an F15 now, but had a 2011 E70 X5 and loved it, never had a single issue with it the 3 years I owned it, went to an F25 X3 for 3 years and back to the X5 now, much better vehicle than the X3...

Fix that ASAP, I had one do that in my e46 and it fully came apart and took out the rad and fan shield, dealer says half the time the dent the hood and they have to replace he hood also!

Cost vs value, it is just overpriced to most people for what you get, like a lot of other options. A lot of other things were more important to me and maybe if it was $1000 it would be more ordered!

It looks a bit stupid in the winter, but I couldn't be bothered to swap the flares back - it certainly can be done and only takes a few minutes, but you will need to keep a good supply of plastic...

I am biased toward white, but it isn't as easy to keep clean as I thought, looks better between washes than say black, but doesn't exactly not show the dirt, titanium would be better in that respect....

Fan can run after the car is off, so could be that. Check your fan for damage as once damaged they are out of balannce and tend to come apart and damage the rad and fan shroud.

I have run the $100 LED's and the $15 GPThunder 8500k and now have the LUX V3 which rock.

The GPThunders are a nice upgrade for short money, make sure you get 8500k color if you want them...

Talking from experience also, ran the $100 LED butterfly style, stunk in bright light and lasted about 4 months, switched to $15 GP Thunders and found them better in daylight, 8500K come pretty close...
