I had this problem once with a 530I and it was something about the exhaust emissions. The dealer replaced the catalytic converter under warranty and the problem solved .

FX35 is more comparable with BMW X6 3.5I not with the 3.0 X5

The X6 has the same hp but bigger torque at lower rpm. X6 also does 0-60 mph faster than the FX35 although it's heavier.
X6= better...

RDC which actually uses radio sensors in each wheel attatched to the back of the tyre valve.
But I'm pretty sure my X5 (european model) doesn't have sensors...
