The valley pan gasket comes attached to the cap so you have to purchase this to repair/replace. You do not need the plastic cover on the cooling tray you just reuse the one from your engine. Some people make their own gasket but often end up getting some leaks and then go back and redo/replace.

+1 of those who made their own gasket. Took the valley pan of after work, and saw that it was liquid silicone gasket from faktory. Peeled that of, and put new silicone on both surfaces. I will see later if it holds or not. 😄

I never consider anything other than OEM gaskets unless another supplier has been proven to be superior. The added cost has never been worth the time spent to go back and do the job again.

I will probably regret it later, But they should have made a gasket sold separatly, this is just an idiot design. 😎

You say that but we don't know what the reasons for doing this from the engineers design/perspective. I would like to know why the engineer chose this design.

Thats true. It would be fun to know why they choosed the design. The valley pan area should have been an integrated part when casted, there isnt anything serviceable underneath, just a gasket that starts to leak 🤔

I should have clarified I meant the internals of your engine look really clean. You can tell that your engine has received proper oil changes and use of quality oil by the cleanliness of the engine internals.

Jontezan: where do but all the parts and tools from? Is there any specialist in Sweden I don't know about? :)
