It's called bullshit.

Kunphuzi0n 05-11-2010 09:02 PM

Yea that is true. It would be nice if it was not. I just want something that looks like it belongs in the X5. I do not want a bezel for some reason. Plus all the built in features, even if they only kind of worked it would be better than what I have now, but you do get what you pay for....

Seems like it was too good to be true.

They've added to the description: not compatible with your BMW OBC(On Board Computer) function.

X5 Meister 05-16-2010 11:53 PM

Does that mean the MK III w/ bagel slicer is a no go too?

Seriously, was there any doubt? They went from 'it's available but not in stock' to 'we're testing it' to 'completely sold out' in the span of what, a week? That's faster than Stones tickets. The ebay seller doesn't even have a single feedback from any of these sold unit...hmmm lots of satisfied customers I presume. And their target audience I would think would be tech skilled people like on message boards. So who wants to admit up that they bought all 5000 of the built units???

BS, scam, call it whatever you like, pure and simple.

:iagree:

even if it was true, it looks like something that should be put it in Opel Astras, not in BMWs and especially not in X5s.

my thought :)

I guess we're back to retrofitting the i-drive into the E53. At least that one IS available.

Hi there

I was looking at this unit the other day, and i couldnt quite make out if the unit supports the cars firmware programmes ? i.e can you go through to menu and reset mileage / mpg data etc...or does half of the cars software ability get wiped out ?

has anyone fitted one ?

X5 Meister 05-17-2010 12:55 PM

As someone posted just a few days ago, all on board computer functions are not supported.
