That's a subtle but nice touch

That is correct! I will do the same on the front for the parking / turn signals...

They definitely disappear. Nice, subtle mod as mentioned.

I must be the only person in the world though who prefers the egg yolk look to clear turns. :)

Some love the orange appearance, I just prefer crystal clear. Did the same on my e38...

+1 Count me in on the egg yoke look. Both my cars have clear corners and amber bulbs. Just a matter of preference.

I changed my oil and put the radiator fan back on after driving without it all winter. I ran out of time to replace the differential fluids. And then got stuck with BMW scanner not connecting, which wasted the rest of my time.

I pulled an oil sample and I think i will send it off for an oil analysis. I've had this car for four years of towing a trailer in the summer now (that is almostall I do with it) and I'm really starting to wonder how many more years I should keep it or if I should sell out before it blows up. It only has 111k miles.

Edit: I just did the math and I have only driven it 4800 miles in the past 17 months (the last time I changed the oil).

And last night, I changed the rear diff oil which I have been meaning to do since I bought the car 4 years ago.

Anyone know if you can replace the front diff oil without removing the stiffener plate?

And can anyone recommend a reasonably priced transfer case fluid?

Nope, you cannot change the front diff oil without removing the reinforcement plate.

If your car is pre-facelift and does not have xDrive (NV125 transfer case) I'm pretty sure the fluid is Dexron III ATF - any good synthetic Dexron III ATF should be fine.

If it is a facelift and has xDrive (ATC500 transfer case) then you need the OEM Power Divider Fluid - DTF 1 and you need to reset the oil wear adaptations via the VTG module after changing the fluid.
