Yep. I realized I have a bad front sensor (ordered from fcp along with the coilovers) and it is what was causing some of my previous headaches. But the real decision maker was jopecasa's broken axle ordeal. The system is really nice when it functions, but the second it goes bad, the car is undrivable. Or worse, it destroys other parts. Wife said she was tired of me tinkering with the SLS. LoL, decision made.

FCP. $995 with lifetime warranty was irresistible. They only have the 12k rear kit though and not the softer 8k kit. Hopefully the 12k spring rate won't be bouncy. Fortunately bc racing na sells the springs individually so can change later if I feel the need.

Broken axle?

From what I gather. The front bags deflated while at speed and dropped the truck onto the tires. I guess the axles were the first thing to give. :dunno:
That's just a guess though. Would have to try and find his post on the event. He just reminded me of it in my air suspension thread.

Coilovers get here tomorrow. Will weigh all the air stuff after it's out of the truck to see if I lose anything over all. Going to pull everything but the wiring.
I know I will gain some storage and am reconsidering where to put my amp rack now that the compressor turtle will be out of the way.

Here's his post in the thread:

Mine failed 4 years ago and was due to me effing around with the ride height via INPA and ISTA.

I got it to settle and enjoyed the lowered ride height...then two days later while driving...it deflated the fronts only and heard loud bang.

Both CV axles are bent .....very costly....Had to buy EHC2 module not cheap and Front CV axles.

Coded new with ISTA-P and left it alone since then.

So be careful...

Holy shit.
Well I'm still on them H&R springs, bit scored a low mileage set of BCs myself.
My only concern now really, is that rear springs. I'm wondering big if it can be removed without dropping the subframe.

Subframe is above the springs. The bottom of the springs push down on part of the rear suspension that moves out of the way with relative ease

Fortunately I found a local indy that did an excellent job of diagnosing my EWS/DME misalignment, and fixing it, in less than an hour.

I ordered a new aux fan, and then another rear window regulator broke. I am doing my fourth window failure in less than two years. Getting pretty good at it too.

Relative ease? No. That think literally kicked my ass putting the ball joint and integral link back on.

It doesn't move out of the way enough for the spring to be removed.

I suppose it's cheating using air springs but its a given for my "relative ease" to apply you need a spring compressor
