I have tried quite a few brands & type, I now have Yokahama ADVAN SPORT
asymmetrical on the front (275) & GoodYear EAGLE F1 directional on the rear (315) so far with a good alignment & camber kits 20K out of the rear & low wear, the front have only done 5K but have no wear indication yet, they do have a rounded outer edge with a harder compound on that part of the tyre so should be good!

I would have bought another set of Pirelli's but they discontinued them. I was also looking into Toyo Proxes ST II's but they don't make the rear sizes for my X5. I have the 19 inch sport package set up. I ended up purchasing a set of Kumho Solus kr21's. I was looking for an all-season tire set up.

Getting new bearings and hub today. Was it truly necessary to get a new hub? They tell me yes, but I don't know.

I just had a left front bearing installed, and I asked about the need for a hub replacement. They said no, so I went with just the bearing and it sounds like a different car. Love it.

Should you just replace the noisy one or do both? as they have the same wear factor, I ask as I'm about to do mine but only the right front is noisy. I was going to do all 4 just to be sure, plus slotted rotors & red stuff pads all round
while I'm at it adjustable caster bushes & go with radial arm solid bushes...

thats a shame about the proxies they make them for the 20" 315 I had them on, great tyres but I damaged an inner side wall on one in a car park!!!

My X only has 65K on it, so my sense is that by listening to all four bearings with a stethoscope and finding only one bad one, I'm comfortable replacing only the one. With significantly more mileage on the vehicle, I might opt for doing them in pairs. (I've had other cars go over 150K miles with no bearing problems.)

Having said that, since the bearings are only about $95 each, if you got a break on the labor because you were already in there doing other stuff, it might make sense to go on and get them done. BTW, it cost me almost $400US to get the one bearing done.

Oil change, coolant expansion tank change (darn thing busted at the seam), 4 wheel road force balance and last week changed out a rear window regulator. Still trying to diagnose a vibration that only occurs while coasting.

A set of Continental ExtremeContact DWS 255/55-18s, a new tie rod, put on a set of RedStuff pads all around, and an alignment. Original tires were OEM, 9 years old with 65,000mi. What a difference, feels like the car is brand new again.
