I get the feeling I should have done those power steering fluid pipes a long time ago - the steering is so much lighter for parking and more responsive at speed, I even let a couple of PSI out the tyres cos it felt a bit light - no rumble from the engine bay any more - can't wait to get a good run out! Headlamp covers will have ato wait for now

Installed E90 10W LED bulbs into E53 5w LED fitting (Both bought off ebay) then hardwired it to the ECU key position 2 wire through a fused Relay so that they become Driving lights and put resistors between the parking light wires so that I don't get the "Check park lights" message anymore.

Ahh the serenity

- Oil Change: Royal Purple SAE 5W-30 Full Synthetic (Yes it's really purple oil!) w/new K&N filter.
- Removed bra and cleaned hood area underneath, removed tree sap with rubbing alcohol.
- Replaced original hood roundel with a black and white roundel from eBay.
- Replaced rear bumper passenger corner PDC surround bezel.
- Replaced 3 weather stripping clips on rear hatch.

TO DO:

- Check ATF & power steering fluid levels & top off.
- Replace dying Bosch 49 series battery with Braille Endurance AGM Battery (B10049).
- Replace stock white tail lights with Sonar (Philips Lumiled's w/built in capacitors) LED light tube versions.
- Replace black plastic fastener clip for rear passenger door panel.
- Rewire subwoofer amp and bluetooth unit ground wires to tire puller handle ground point.
- Run wired AUX input from rear driver storage area to center console.
- Get vehicle inspected at local indy shop. Especially oil separator hoses, valley pan gasket, alternator and transmission.
- Refinish (wet sand and polish) headlight covers, then apply light smoke vinyl protection, install new hood gaskets.
- Install capacitors for LED turn signals up front to stop ECU warning messages.
- Replace burned out driver side fog light (perhaps do HID upgrade).
- Replace/inspect rear license plate light (upgrade to LED).
- Replace stock Harmon Kardon amp with a better 4-channel amp.
- Order and install Powerstop cross-drilled/slotted rotors & pads.
- Get my AFS Style 87 rims power coated T028-GR02 Steel Gray Pearlescent 80% Gloss.

Finally removed the TCU/SOS and installed the ULF Bluetooth! I had a buddy at the dealer run through the programming. All that was needed was the new ULF and the pairing button for the center console. The mic, antenna, bracket, and antenna cable were in my kit from getbmwparts.com, but I didn't need them.

I have wanted this feature since before I even got my first 2004 X5 7 years ago! So cool!

Put in led SMD licence bulbs off eBay. So damn bright, and modern looking. Price is good too.

Bought these e53 bulbs and these e90 bulbs off ebay and placed everything from the e90 bulb into the e53 black plastic cradle so that it plugs straight in.

http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/a...f/d9efaafc.jpg

I used 400ohm power resistors and just cut the plug off the old park light socket and soldered the resistor in between, one for each side. (The white thing)

I wired in the relay to activate from a red/white wire in the ecu box and took the positive straight off the back off the booster terminal

Oil change of 9.5qts of Castrol European formula 0w/30. Then gave it a wash to knock off some of the dust from sitting at the airport the last two weeks.

After changing the oil with Castrol last year at 13K miles and this year at 21K miles, the oil looked UNBELIEVABLE! It was cleaner in appearance than the BMW/Castrol brand 10x30 that I've changed at 5K miles for the past 10 years on my Bimmers. I was nervous bc I like to change the BMW brand at 5K, but I'd heard that the European formula Castrol would impress. It did! I am considering going 10K on this oil change. Even the FILTER was ultra clean!

Next up is some stainless steel brake lines and a fluid flush, preventative coolant flush and suspect parts, preventative belts and hoses, too. Oh yes. And the transmission, transfer case, and diff fluids. Won't be cheap, but it's cheaper than being stranded!

Added brake fluid which took care of the red "brake" sign and the yellow triangle with exclamation light which is great but I think that may have built more pressure in the system and discovered brae fluid leak. Got rear brake pads fixed and so only Light left on the dash is the airbag light. Got driver door carrier, can finally open the car from the driver side. I guess one thing is scratched of the list to fix, and few more to go.
