Replaced the expansion tank on my 2002 4.4. I tried to only replace one part for a change, as opposed to everything I touched. This was a bit out of the norm for me, so of course two leaks developed. A week later a new coolant hose and radiator drain plug and back up and running. So glad to be behind the wheel of a BMW again! One question for the group....One bolt between the expansion tank and bracket will not fully tighten or loosen. I think there is a nut that continues to turn inside the bracket. The other bolt fits tight. Should I pull it all out and replace the bracket or let it go?

It sounds like a case of it is doing its job already. If it's tight but won't torque and there are other bolts you should be good. If you can't remove it's not going to likely vibrate loose either.

I put a new clutch in. Replaced the seriously worn out DMFW and SAC with a traditional SMFW setup. Also did the shift pin service. It shifts so much better now and the clutch grabs consistently.

New snorkel to the air cleaner housing. Texas heat and ozone finally cracked the flex section. Rear brake pads show evidence of more towing the last three years. I'll probably have to replace my Akebonos at 100,000 miles this time.

Added a second remote bottle opener so can open one or the other or both nitrous bottles as needed.

Debadged rear and sides, changed amber turn signals bulbs to clear ones. Much cleaner looking now.

Thx Josh. I'm really digging the no badge look I thought I wouldn't...
Still have to clean and align those exhaust tips, both hangers are cracked just noticed today...

Hit a nasty pot hole driving back from crystal mountain. Blew out the sidewall. Other tires had some previous patches and sidewall scrapes. Good excuse to spring for a new set of tires. Only got about 10k miles on the DWS' this time... hopefully this set will have better luck

Debadging is one of those things you are on the fence about when you do it the first time, but then you never want to own a car that is not debadged after. I've been doing it since I was 17.

Not snagging my towels on emblems alone is worth it, let alone the much cleaner look.

Looks clean and amazing four8 -
