Dropped the valve cover off at the local powder coating shop. In the middle of replacing a CCV and pulled the intake manifold to replace the torx hardware with hex socket hardware and all the gaskets. They looked to be all the original gaskets. Replaced all of the vacuum hoses.

o.O Pulling the valley pan to fix that leak. Pulling the oil pan to check the oil pump bolts/loctite them. Replacing vanos seals because they were leaking.

Spent an hour cleaning up the engine compartment. She is 13 years old with 145,000 miles on her and I have never cleaned the engine before today. The secrets are Scrubbing Bubbles bathroom cleaner and Aerospace 303.

That is one clean engine bay - wow!

Do you mean Aerospace 303? Must check that out....

Last week I got a warning about brake linings on the CC so today I went from this... (not my photo)...

... to this.... (this one IS my photo!)

I painted the new rotor centres with a ceramic hi-temp paint to keep the centres from rusting up too badly. New pads and a new sensor completed the task.

I found I'm missing a guide pin seal (cap) so now I'm on the hunt for one of those. Yes, I know I can buy them from lots of online places but the freight to NZ is a killer - up to $40 for a $2 cap. Might even ask at the local dealership!

Next up - plastic grills in front bumper!

Yes spray on a can of Scrubbing Bubbles bathroom cleaner. Spray it on everything except the headlight lenses. Let it foam for 5 minutes and rinse lightly with a garden hose. Let dry and apply the Aerospace 303 for a clean, matte finish.

Impressive! I've always wanted to do a engine bay cleaning, but fear something crazy (electrically) when taking a hose to it.
