Here is what they look like after being outgassed and powdercoated correctly.

Plan was to drive the car for another 2 weeks, but with new parts laying in the garage and som itching finger, i put the car in its winter sleep today. I was only going to pop the hood and have a look, but ended with a new cam chain tensioner(old one in picture) . Do i need to say that there isnt much room in there? =)

There are a lot of stuff that can be removed for better access to the engine 😄

Replaced both mirrorglasses today, and fixed the dip function when you put in rewerse 😄 the oem glasses had a light blue tint, but cost around 180-190 dollars each, i found these from a german website for 15 dollars each. They are not blue tinted, but have the wide angel part atleast 😄

Well if you have not done so already you are really going to have to think about doing the timing guides on these vehicles. I did mine since the timing covers were leaking. Funny thing is the week before I was going to rip it down to fix all the leaks and timing guides, a small whirring sound developed almost like an alternator bearing. checked it out and the sound was not coming from the alternator, ac compressor, or pulleys. So when we ripped down the engine just started to see the beginning pieces of the timing guides come apart and the chain just started to make contact with the metal. Talk about perfect timing.

You got lucky there. How many miles or km did you have on your x when you did the chain? Did you do the whole package with vanos and upper chains to? It would give peace of mind to do the chains. Attaching a video of my engine running at idle. First half of the video, the engine runs on cold start rpm (1000). Im no expert on these engines, but i cant hear any scray noises 😄
