Got the dipstick tube out. Just bend it gently past the vanos solenoid, and then it comes out pretty easy. Also tried the base plate for the locking tool 😄

Yeah my brother and I had to use a pipe from home depot to get the correct amount of leverage. Yes its true that Jesus himself torqued that bolt down. Please be careful

It was sitting real hard, i had to use pretty much force on the first half unscrewing. I used a 1 metre cheater bar on my 3/4 inch handle, and my homemade locking tool. Felt good when it came loose 😄 Skickat från min iPhone med Tapatalk |

Question about the timing tools. On bank 1-4 the intake camshaft points uppwards, while on bank 5-8 i can easily put on the tool. On bank 5-8 it is not complete flush to the head but nearly. The engine is at tdc with the locking pin inserted in the flywheel

I can easy turn the intake camshaft without any movement in the chain (it turns inside the vanos), all the diy guides i found dont mention this, usually you see a picture of the cam locks on already. There are markings on the edge of the cams facing uppwards bank 1-4 and bank 5-8 so i know i got the tdc position right. But im gonna take the open wrench and get them in position so the cam locks fit Skickat från min iPhone med Tapatalk |
