Off of the top of my head I dont think you have to remove vanos camshaft sensor trigger wheel. Your just doing the timing chain and guides. Give it a read through. Very informative.

Thanks for info! They had a pretty nice guide 😄

Left of here for today. Need to buy a set of 1/2 inch socket torxes, i only have 3/4 at home. Think i will brake them when unbolting the exhaust camshaft sprocket. And once again, i really appretiate the help i get from you guys 😄👍

Yes make sure you get a good set of 1/2 inch spline sockets. The factory has them torqued and locked down well.

Found this in bmw tis. Seems that you are taking a chance that the vanoses are fully retarded to the left. I am going to break all 4 camsprockets free, seems that it is nessecery to get away all chainslack when timing the engine 😄

As you can see the urail was on its way out and just matter of time for the others.

Yes, thats true. If the u-guide breaks it takes the rest of the other guides with it. When i first read about the chain problem on these cars i got worried, so it is going to feel nice that they are all good. 😄

New primary, upper chains and guides replaced. I have also changed the guide pieces and o-rings on the upper tensioners. Now for the timing bit. I have had all camshaft sprockets free rotating, so i dont have any chainslack anywhere. Both vanos units are fully retarded counterclockwise to the left. All 4 camsprocketbolts are snugged up and ready for final tourqe. Have i missed something? Have a nice weekend 😄
