Do you have INPA?

Read DME >> N62>>Read F6>>>Check values on Analog 3

Since its bank 2 that gives error codes, does that mean i only have to strip that side down to retime? Do i have the timing plate a bit of? When i did the timing of the cams, i adjusted the cams so the camblocks would be flush with the head, then remove the blocks and tdc pin. Rotated the engine one turn, put on the camblocks and tdc pin, i adjusted the cam that was slightly of. I repeated these steps until the camblocks would slide on/off easy and sit flush to head. Hope you understand what i mean 😄

I have reset the timing today. I have done following
1: lock engine at tdc, aligned camshafts with the camshaft lockingblocks
2: unlock everything, spin crankshaft with a ratchet 1 full turn so that the marks on camshafts face up again, re-check camshaft positioning, adjust what is out of time.
3. Rotated the engine once more, this time all camshafts aligned perfectly! intake cams on both banks are fully retarded to the left when i check the realigment.
4. When i released the chaintensioner to put the upper covers on, i noticed there was some slack between bank 1 and 2 cam sprockets (around the U-guide) that goes away if i gently pry the tensioner guide piece, is that the way it supposed to be? I have put the valve covers on and soon be ready for startup again 😄

Started the car today, no more water leaks, engine sounds really good. But i still end up with the p0022 code. What is going on?!? The only thing suspicious ive noticed is that the inspection holes on the upper timing covers doesn line up with the holes on the sensor wheels. Shouldnt those line up since the cam positioning sensor mounts in the upper covers? I have used the timing jigs when tightening them down. I have made a little video of live readings from my icarsoft, if it helps. This car is soon gonna make a nice playhouse for the kids in the backyard!

From my experience, you should make sure that the timing wheels line up with the holes in the timing cover, since that's what the sensors measure. Unfortunately, the timing jigs are not always accurate. Back when I was using the old BMW-style timing wheel jigs, I always had camshaft timing error codes and I would have to tweak the timing wheels afterwards. Now that I've switched to using the GAS timing tools, I've gotten the timing spot on with the first try.

I have the bmw style timing tools, im going to swap the cam positioning sensor between bank 1/2 to see if the code switch side. If that doesnt work, im going to set the sensor wheels by the holes in the upper covers. Thx for reply

Adjusted bank 2 sensorwheel today, now it alignes with the inspectionhole in the upper timing cover. But still throwing code p0022. What a nightmare this has become
