Sorry about that.

Here is the link for the board upgrade thread

https://forum.xda-developers.com/and...o-px5-t3581741

That would be a good place to start learning some of the ins and outs.

Sorry I took so long coming back in. I just kept playing another song. I mean it sounds almost as good as the hk system in my 323i with a subwoofer and the x5 doesn't have a sub (yet).

Pure HEAVEN!!!!

Now for the bad news. I need to reinstall my rear view mirror. I had the stereo turned up to a little over half way and it fell off the socket. So after I fix that I will post more install info. But while Im resting here are some more pics to enjoy.
Crowz, Need your help, I bought this same system. I read your write up on your site. Problem is it still didn't work. The additional wire you connect to wasnt clear.
i can get power but no sound. from your site below
quote
"Next I had to “fix” a problem my install had. The system would not power on the amplifier. There was no power coming from the seicane head unit on the wire that should turn on the amp. So I ran a wire from the seican head unit to the hatch area and spliced it into the plug they provided (What Plug?). This powered the white wire in the factory harness to turn the amp on when the radio came on. I will post pics of this tomorrow. Its raining right now and I don’t want to get soaked taking pics tonight."

"The wire I mentioned that you run from the head unit to back to solve the amp not powering on is hooked to #5 on the seicane head unit. Its blue with a white stripe I think. I know its blue just not sure on the white stripe part.

Then the other end of the wire hooks to the “auto ant” wire in the hatch area. It is blue with a white stripe for sure. This will fix the amp problem."

Clarification needed. wire hooked to the #5 on the head unit but the picture shows the plug that goes back in the trunk. So at this point no idea what to hook what to.
this all was several days ago. So i registered to ask this question (had to wait 6 days) since then i went back and fourth with Seicane in china and they are next to useless.
Now, i bought some amps and speakers for a full blow tear out and thought i could use this head unit. Problem i have now is there is no voltage on any of the out put pig tails.

Any thoughts on any of this?:

From my site :

The wire I mentioned that you run from the head unit to back to solve the amp not powering on is hooked to #5 on the seicane head unit. Its blue with a white stripe I think. I know its blue just not sure on the white stripe part.

Then the other end of the wire hooks to the “auto ant” wire in the hatch area. It is blue with a white stripe for sure. This will fix the amp problem.

The "other end" is the part in the trunk. So you hook a wire to the #5 wire up front and run it all the way to the back and hook it to the wire in the plug at the back that says "auto ant" on the label (plastic tag around the wire). It happens to go thru the connector directly into the needed wire in the factory harness is why your doing this.

The final thing your achieving is connecting #17 from the radio #5 with #5 being in the trunk since its moved there when you use the long cable Seicane provides

ok auto Ant to Ant via long wire. Pretty sure i tried that and no sound. So i will retry just to confirm. Think i may have something else going on.

thanks for clarification. Any idea why my head unit pre outs would have no voltage or very low? .003 vdc

thanks in advance

Ok, I tried all that with no luck. And still no voltage from the pre outs.

I tested voltage from the both ant wires and it was about 10.5

there has to be something real simple. Unit powers on and i can see my Spotify stream on it but no dang sound.

I took wire 16 (amp) behind the seicane unit, and connected it to the white wire i in the cars harness in the trunk.
