when i reconnected the OEM plug back into the radio unit in the trunk it had 12.5 volts from that white wire at the plug
this is without reconnecting the OEM head unit.

not sure what difference that makes.

kinda leaning twards a defective unit.

So you need to either get the ncs inpa software and cables off ebay or get someone to code it for you. The ibus adapter it seems will control the dsp but not keep it on. Coding the car to think it has a mid in place of navigation makes it not look for the nav head unit which is what is causing the amp to turn off.

Sorry if Im not super clear on some of these response. I have the flu and it sucks.
Sorry about the flu man... no idea what the NCS INPA means but will look on ebay.

so the other question is,,,,, is it possible to by pass this stuff if i ad additional amps. I have some AudioControl stuff coming.

thanks guys for your help!

I think the problem is dsp.

Bcredliner have the same problem, as far as I remember he has another head unit ( but also a seicane)
He started out with 20 sec of sound, I think he has the ibus adapter.
He could not find a solution, so he has taken the car to some professional guys.

Take a look on crows how to, to learn more about the ibus.
For us without dsp, the ibus is not a need to make the HU to work.

The cars came with two different amps.

Non dsp amps are plug and play with these radios other than running the one wire I mentioned.

DSP amps have a built in sound effect system and put out more power but if your car came with the navigation screen up from it wont stay on without it. That's where the programming comes in.

Using a special cable you can connect to the obd plug under the dash and program the car to think it didn't come with a navigation screen so it doesn't look for it and keeps the amp turned on.

Nice car
Yes it should be pretty loaded from the factory.
I don’t know if all 4.8 come with dsp from factory.
The ibus is not a factory option.
It is an USB adapter that connect the the car to aftermarket HU.
That lets you reset km/l / miles/gallon, Se water temp, speed, mileage, some basic coding and a lot other features.
For sure the best 50$ or so I have spent on the car

The original BM54 radio unit in the rear has to be plugged in for the system to know the DSP is there. Do you not have the proper harness for DSP?

"DSP turn on wire may work for some, but it didn't work for mine. I had to buy a different harness so the factory stereo stayed in the ibus loop. Without the factory stereo in the loop, the DSP amp would turn off.

I also had to code the DSP amp so it knew the board monitor had been removed. After doing that, the DSP amp works fine with the ibus stick and app."

As for wiring up without the factory amps and all then yes you can. You will need to provide amps to handle that and use the wires in left rear hatch area at the amp to connect the new amps to the speaker wires unless you want to run all new speaker wires (lots of work).

The factory amp sounds really good when you get it working with the Seicane. Love the sounds quality.

I am doing it all, Amps Speakers and all wires. I plan on it taking a while.
I know it’s a ton of work but it’s winter and I have a shop!
