Different corners....I like the ebay ones better, but that's a personal opinion

Slightly different curves/lines around the lowbeam

Ebay ones come w/ CCFL angel eyes while the DDM ones are halogen w/ no option for CCFL

DDM ones come w/ what seems like a generic version of some HID lowbeams, so that's kind of a plus. If they ever go out, then you just go ahead and buy a normal set from DDM. I have a set of their Apexcone HID's on my 7 w/o any issues, but i've never heard of their Raptor HID's. I wonder if they're covered under any kind of warranty.

The reflector is partially why I liked them better myself also, because they do like exactly like your facelifted E53. Also, the DDM corners remind me of older clear corners, unfortunately which are the only styles available for our 7's also. If they made a clear corner for the 7 that kinda has the same cool inner design as the facelifted E53, i'd be all over them. The plain ol' crystal clear (100% visibility of the bulb) or dotted clear (like the the DDM cornered set look dated, so having the little sideways V in the corner light looks kinda cool. I'm gonna have to snap me up a set for sure, just wanting to know more about the angel eye brightness now....decisions, decisions

I've heard enough horror stories about Umnitza, but I don't wanna cornhole DEPO because they sell different products. Umnitza is run by a bunch of tools, imho.

Cheers.
Low and behold, you're right! It also looks like the ebay ones are maybe slightly tinted, but that also could just be lighting. How do you like them? I want the angel eyes to be completely visible during the daytime, that's my biggest concern for getting completely new headlight housings as opposed to just sticking w/ my stock halogens...then just adding HID's and some ebay sold 6000k CCFL's instead.

I want them to look like this....

I don't have Xenon, HID's or projectors now....so anything is an upgrade from my plain ol halogen headlights. Thanks. Maybe some pics of the angel eyes in the light and dark possible? That's one of my biggest concerns.

I don't have self leveling...is it worth trying to adapt in? I'd guess not since I assume it ties of the rearend of the X, having to run wires and a bunch of BS would just be a headache...unless the wiring is already there, then i'd just need motors?

Bastard I kid, I kid. I'm surprised this thread got this much exposure to be honest. The mods really need to get Automerge on these forums....wow

Since you asked how the CCFL angel eyes in the ebay ones compare to factory ones, i'll wait till you get yours so I can get your opinion. I've seen stock angel eyes on e39's and a few other cars, but I really want them to be brighter and not so yellow as i've seen in some stock setups.

Loving these lights guys.
Sorry Simon, but these appeal a little more than yours, without the 8 'ribs' surrounding the main beam reflector. Very appealing how Dolphin was able to convert xenon and auto levelling to these units. The outer blinker lens (top & bottom) looks very similar to post facelift h/light units.
As long as they live up to expectations I'll seriously consider these.
Any night time beam shots ??

Thanks

the HIDs he sent with them don't work. 6 months ago he sent me a new set..same issue. this thread got me fired up again so i called him today and he was like "oh, long time" and i explained to him i was still have the same issues and i wanted to return everything (didn't have a backup plan for headlights though lol) and he said he would actually help me out and that he was overnighting me a new HID kit because the ones he sent me had 'known issues' ..so now i'm waiting for the new HIDs..lets see how those go.

i won't like about one thing, the AEs look AMAAAZING .. especially when the sun starts to set or at night.. everyone always stares and gives me a thumb up haha. they are BRIGHT

i recommend you gowith depo, they are as close as you can get to oem. Also keep in mind that the depo ones have leveling motors and these dont.
