Congratulations on a nice install! Really love the way the HL looks on our dash! I noticed that your HL was not mounted 'too deep' in the hole. Were you able to use the 2 metal bars/frame for the HL to latch on? How did you secure the HL?

The reason I ask is because I had to do a 're-install' on mine so that the HL can go in deeper even with the 2 metal bars/frame mounting.

BTW, how's the bluetooth audio to and from. Also, your GPS? (Are you on Garmin OS or iGo?)

I had to modify the brackets a little bit so that Unit sits all the way in. This was probably the hardest part of the install.

I have not hooked up the GPS yet because I want to run the wire under the dashboard so the everything looks clean. And remove the dashboard is a HUGE pain in the a**. But I have to do it because the blower motor died and the only way to replace it is removing the dash. I will keep you posted I think I will do it today.

Thanks for this wally! We did it almost the same way. I tried getting it further down. Yes I agree it was the hardest part of the install. Had to shave a lot of plastic with the dremmel!. Cheer!

I ended up moving the bracket up a 1/8 of an inch so that the unit seats all the way in at the bottom. I will get another pic. But now it fits just perfect. I am very impressed with how it looks and feels.

Ok Guys I am finished. Almost.... I got my blower motor replaced and needless to say what a job. I still have some tweaking to my Hualingan unit but the placement is excellent. Here's some more pics

Now that's what I'm talkin about! I like the HL deeper in that hole. You got it Wallly. Niceee!

Great picture of the naked dashboard. Geeez! Will you be able to put things back together?!?!

I am able to derive much knowledge from this. I hope you can post some more 'naked dashboard' pix (in different angles) so that we know where to run cables and stuffs. Very useful for mods involving running stuffs under the dash and all. Thanks!
