Thanks!
Slick's right. Im running a custom air setup, it allows me to set 3 preset heights, and also manually control each corner from inside the truck. I just dropped it for that pic....you can't actually drive it like that.

Suspension refresh, at 110,000 miles. It's pretty challenging to source some kind of non-oem approach to the struts and shocks for a 4.4i with sport package. At end of the day, I used the Stage 2 suspension kit here:
BMW X5 (2000-06) - Suspension - Page 1
along with these additional pieces:
BMW X5 Front 6 Piece Control Arm Kit By Meyle
BMW X5 Rear Ball Joint OEM
and a set of Powerflex subframe bushings.

The Pelican Parts kit is very nice - thorough and complete with all the incidental parts for the job included, excellent quality and fit throughout. My mechanic had a lot of good things to day about their product.

If you've run out past 100,000, you should really think about doing this kind of a refresh. You'll be very happy with the results.

holy jesus thats expensive. So you just did shocks, but not springs? Or do you have SLS?

Did you do it yourself or have a shop do it?

...replaced the Panoramic Sunroof rubber seal (actually my excellent new mechanic did it for $90 and I supplied the BMW OEM part# 54 10 7 199 533 that I got from ECS Tuning for $39.42 including shipping = $129.42 for the entire job!!). Looks awesome and is said to be designed as much more durable than the factory OEM seal. Here's the link to the seal for those looking to do this job (it's even LESS $$$ NOW!) as it fits my 2005 4.8is E53 PERFECTLY:

Next up = EXHAUST UPGRADE (pics & audio / video coming)

Yeah - a little bit of change, that's for sure. Mine is SLS, but I have some new springs on order so that'll be done before long, too. There won't be much left on the suspension that isn't redone at that point, so at least that part is ready for another 100k. Had a shop do it, a little bit beyond my ability to be the wrench.

If you really want to bring tears to your eyes, try pricing out this project at dealer rates.
