Did Brembo Brakes with Akebono Dustless Pads on all 4 Corners Tomorrow the Matte Black Style 214's go on with the new 315/275 Staggered Setup. Now my 3.0 is only missing a powerful motor to push these heavy things lol

So was the media over hyping the storm or what! Would you have left your X alone knowing what you know now about the non hurricane hurricane?

Weasel will become famous soon enough
It wasn't all over hyped... it was still pretty bad in many places. Living in south Louisiana I learned a long time ago to never not take a hurricane seriously.

I ordered a workshop manual, to find out among other things how to change diesel filter and the dreaded air filter.

Washed, clayed and waxed yesterday. Then I ruined all that work fording water to get some nice pictures. It's all dusty from parking outside too. At least I have time today to clean it up again. I would post pictures if I didn't have just phone internet.

New axles

I just had both front axles on the '04 X5 4.4i replaced, as well as getting four new Nitto Crosstec tires. Tire and driveline noise are way down, but still noticeable at low speed. I wonder if it's because of all the hardware in the awd. Since I haven't driven another one for comparison, I'd like to hear from others about whether this is "normal". I'm specifically asking about low level "mechanical" noise.

No, I only hear road and engine noise from mine. Whenever I hear something mechanical, something is wrong

Mechanical noise

Thanks for the response 1stE53. I think BMW went to xDrive in '04, so the awd in mine may be different from yours. I know how hard it is to diagnose minor noise issues, and I'm going to have an indie BMW shop look at bearings and such. Just looking for input before I start chasing something that is possibly inherent in the X.
