Yes. It is the swing away adapter. Really nice for loading into or out of the rear hatch with bikes.

It is a really nice, but I bet it is super expensive on top of the already super duper expensive 1up

Yeah. It's not cheap, but it's been great being able to help people get to our training rides who otherwise would not have a way to get there. I am hopeful to carry mine and three others to our goal ride at the end of this month. It'll be a 50 miler (for me). Others will do a century. I am not there, yet.

Just hit 260k km (162k ml) and the X is doing better than ever. Rear shocks are next on the list.

low-mileage, barely-driven

Your signature shows that you had 51k miles on it, as of 10-25-2015, and now, 107 months later, you've only added 5840 miles to that. That's only 54.5 miles per month!

I had believed that I was driving mine less than everybody else, at 67.5 miles per month over nearly 40 months, but yours gets the prize for least driven (unless it's only a garage queen, which shouldn't count). Though I have other vehicles, the X5 is my choice to drive, whenever I do actually drive (my wife likes to drive in her Lexus, because she thinks the X5's seats are too hard, though I like them better than those in her '14 Lexus ES350...which I've only been allowed to drive once).

However, I sometimes drive one or more of our three back-up vehicles, hauling stuff too long or large for the X5 ('09 HHR Panel, '98 GMC 1500, and '04 Chevy 2500HD), but the X5 is large enough for most shopping trips. Last week, I drove the X5 140+ miles, but also the GMC 80 miles...the most I'd driven in the past 8.75 years, since retirement, in one week. I'm sure that if I only drove the X5, it'd have a coupla more miles on it, by now.

But, at 212704 miles, and in fine working condition (appearance-wise, not so much, having never been garaged by any of the three owners...I'm #3), I'm in no great hurry to add too many more miles on the X, anyway.
