What's directly behind the shifter? Looks like a hole and a couple of big buttons...

I meant the area behind the shifter - closest to the back seats....

Um!

I didn't bother to read through the whole thread so this might have been asked already, but um what are these side rails in the trunk for?

Any thoughts on the special rims for the run-flat tires? I am not familiar with which rim this is, but I am sure someone here is.

Are there alternative rims available that will take the special run-flat tires or are these the first produced in this size range?

It is always an option to ditch the run-flats and go to normal tires, with no spare, perhaps using the pump/repair kit that the M comes with. Don't know if these ones will be harsh or not, they are listed as a new generation RFT. Guess we'll see.

The problem with run flats is the price and potential lack of availability. They scare me after the horrible experience we have had with our Sienna.

Those two issues worry me on my Z4; also, they are a little harsh. These on the E70 won't be such a low profile, and they are a newer generation, so they may be OK. If I manage to wear out the tires on the Z4, I am replacing the runflats with standard tires and buying the compressor/repair kit.

LM, Thanks for all the pics and info...
You are the Keep-Us-Updated Man!

I enjoyed reading all the comments and opins
and viewing the pics.

It is very pleasing to the eye, imo and
looks well done. Remarkable how it looks
nothing like the cladded mules or the
bevy of bs PS pics that circ'd for so long.

The list of "tech stuff" reads right outta
mkting 101, but I guess they all have to
pump something in a very crowded and
pricey mkt place.

The longer, probably heavier car is not
necessarily the right direction, and the
new/optional vestigial 3rd row wouldn't
be on my opt.list. Then, the new E70
probably won't be on my shopping list,
either.

No Luddite, but the ever growing list
of electronics, gizmos, etc. is often
one step more than necessary and
"me tooism", imo, and stuff no one wants
out of warr.

The lack of any 6 spd manual is a shame
and the cost of a well outfitted 3.0 is
gonna be considerable and probably out
of my rationalizing budget range.

Ah, I hope our old '01 keeps chugging for awhile
as the trade value of it has shrunk to junk bond
status.

Sunil, Thanks again for your tenacity and adroitness
in copping pics and info on the new rides.
