In terms of aesthetics, I think you made the right choice in changing to the original 4.8 tips. Out of curiosity were the 4.8 tips supplied and fitting by your BMW dealer?

That’s the look I hope to achieve with an M-Sport come June. Cheers for the comparison picture Futureman.

Exclamation

The price of the 4.8i exhaust tips including the cost of fitting them is roughly €1000, quotation from local dealer.

As much as I like the look, it’s a little to dear for me.

not too concerned about exhaust system warranty.... and parts warranty will come from the exhaust manufacturer...
Any pics on your exhaust system yet?

went through a number of different exhaust tip options... none of them gave me what i wanted...

i've decided to go with a semi-full exhaust setup instead...

i'm waiting for a axle back exhaust system to arrive shortly...

i will post pics once i have it installed...

eKelly, does that mean that your dealer has secret sources in BMW...or are the 4.8 tips now available (ie they have a part #)

Do you have this part #, if it exists, can you dealer give this to you, and you can share it with the rest of us...?

Also..do you have larger pics of your car...the avatar looks great...but too small...what style wheels are they....128??

Hi ozx5

No, not at all. My local dealership is just your average run of the mill BMW garage. In order to get hold of the OEM 4.8i exhaust tips you have to order the complete rear silencer (Part # - 18 10 7 558 646). My dealer had no problem ordering it and spot welding the 4.8i tips on but it was quite pricey.

Yeah my wheels are the Spider Spoke 128’s. If you want any more just let me know.

Kind Regards
ekelly
