2007 E70 3.0si - on order
Thanks Alex. I will also check at my local dealership here in Valencia and see what they say. I was at Glendale BMW earlier today and one of the guys there told me it should also fit but they did not really do any measurement. You're lucky you're out there in OC. It's going to be super hot out here the next few days so we're spending the weekend at Newport Beach and kick back.

Pretty sure that they are specific to the E70, the cut matches the rear profile perfectly.

I will post the part number and price here soon (don't have the spec sheet to hand just now).

BTW: I was hoping that the dealer was going to fit the 4.8 squarer tips, but to be honest the round ones look pretty good and I don't have to go hacking and welding a brand new car. The price of the round tips was very reasonable.

Thanks X5JDX, I also prefer the round ones vs the 4.8, and they look like a very easy fit too. They do look great. Any moreinfo/part numbers greatly appreciated.
thanks

How to install E53 4.8is tips?

I looked into the same thing...

The reason you can not get the E70 4.8 tips is because they are part of the muffler and for a set it will run you about $600 USD.

Here is the next best thing. You can purchase the E53 (X5) 4.6/4.8is tips...they are very similar to the E70 4.8 tips and are OEM...you can order them from the board sponcer Morristown BMW for $220 (set).

...Or if you want to spend even less, then just get the aftermarket ones like some of the people on this board already did from e-bay for $110.

through my research this is the best you can do...unless you find a totaled E70 4.8 at your local junk yard purchase the rear mufflers with the exhous and cut the tips off then have them welded....
Anyone have info how to install these tips? Asked about them from my dealer and they said it's not going to fit just like that, you have to modify the existing tips...

Can you guys verify through your sources if this information is correct or not ???

Thanks.

The french dealers indicate that it is not possible to go up the tips of E53 4.6 nor those of the E70 4.4.

The assembly of these last ones requires adaptations of the existing exits and thus pulls the loss of the guarantee manufacturer in case of problem of the system of escape.
