well it helps you if you actually use it (step on it).

Incorporate the Bluetooth, number pad, phone controller that was standard on the last generation 7 Series..

It's a great feature.

I would if it was useful, unless you are stepping on it with both feet and jumping clear off it. If you step on it normally with one feet on the running board and the other on the ground, the leg on the ground still rubs against the running board because the boards are at the same level as the door and in effect extend the door sill out.

Simple stuff for me..
  • Source mode volume control
  • Microphone mute (and assignable to steering wheel key)
  • Warning chime adjustment
  • More mp3 options when using the AUX.. e,g search and a thru Z selection...
  • Adjust internal lighting delay
  • Auto headlight illumination after exit option.
  • Higher res navigation
  • POI customisation for NAV
  • More custom view for displays.
  • Full screen TV

Redesign the hood so that the left wiper doesn't touch the edge of the hood when the wiper is lifted.

1. Make the air more user friendly and quieter.
2. Design more attractive trailer hitch.

this thread makes me depressed.
here's my gripes:

1. Sunglass holder
2. Better garage door opener with stronger signal
3. Side blinkers on side mirror
4. Sturdier scratch proof running boards, stepping on them makes them bend and i'm not even 180 lbs
5. Center hole in the back seat, or back seat armrest. Can't place fishing poles or other small long items without folding the entire half of a seat
6. Touchscreen navi interface
7. Voice recognition that will understand basic English
8. Easier to open center armrest compartment
9. More ambient lighting
10. Regular sound system is disappointing. I like most of the sound come from the rear, but if you try it yourself, it will sound horrible. My Accord LX had much better acoustics
11. Storage compartments beneath the back seat. If Toyota and Mazda can do it....
12. New back up camera, the image quality especially at low light looks like a video game malfunction
13. Sunroof manual screen control. Why do I need to press a button for a screen I can move myself in seconds?
14. Traffic information is too vague and slow, it tells you you're in traffic after you're already in it
15. Navigation needs an update badly. Google maps interface would be a godsend.
16. Too much wasted cooling goes through the entire center compartment rather than the rear climate vents
17. Climate control could use a better manual interface

Yeah. Why can't BMW put in these for us. I know a lot of people just end up using clips or just keeping it in the center compartment. I got lucky, since I don't smoke and my SG's are small, I was able to remove the ash tray and line it with felt. My Oakley's barely fit, but I'm able to close the compartment without people knowing I have glasses there.

As for the opening of the center armrest. Do you press down on it before pressing the buttons then finally pulling it open? Edmunds.com's InsideLine gave the BMW horrible remarks about this too. But I found out from the dealer that it was some weird unknown design feature. I like it that way.

You can actually open both the shade and sunroof at same time. All you need to do is push the switch to the rearward position quickly two times and both shade and roof open together. Just make sure to push switch quickly and it works for me every time.

As for my gripes:
  1. Cheap interior plastics around seat, rear hatch, and front console that constantly rub together and squeak. Unacceptable in a $70K vehicle.
  2. Laggy transmission
  3. Terrible back up camera
  4. Slow navigation system
