From that post, it seems that you will have to pay the destination even with PCD. You do get to drive BMW's fleet of cars at PCD, though.

Just placed my order for a 35d and got the 4500 rebate plus will get the irs credit for 1800. The most my dealer would discount is 1750 off msrp, but they are giving me good money for my trade in. Got a production number, will have a vin the day production actually begins sometime in October.

Being on a budget (in order to gain wife approval) I had to choose my options wisley. Went with black/black premium with 3rd row seat, comfort seats, dvd entertainment pkg, running boards, and roof rails.

I really wanted the sports package, but decided to go with just running boards and comfort seats (nicer than sport seats imho). I wish I could order the high gloss black trim around the windows as a standalone option, is this possible? Also, the sports package does not have the 20" y-spokes available as an option, the 19's would be a waste for me because the first thing I plan to do is get OE 20's or 21's.

Also, the sport suspension is too expensive as a standalone option now, too bad. I might just go with a lowering kit later if the wheel well gap is too large, hopefully this will not be the case though because I really don't want to mess with the suspension. Any thoughts on the look of the e70 non-sport with 20's or 21's???

I live in southern CA, so the shipping won't be insignificant (probably $1200-$1500), but the PDC might be kind of cool. At PDC, do we get to drive among a fleet of cars? I'd rather not flog my new car until fully broken in.

your right, good point, but ive been living here in NJ for almost 10 years now, hot summer and freezing winter is not a problem...

im more interested to know the difference between regular sport seats and this multi contour seat (in 456 and ZAV)...

is it worth it to get 456 ever if you already have the sport seats from sports activity package??

another good point, im a bit worried with those tiny holes as my wife loves to eat inside the car, and with our 3 kids, i would think it would be a mess...

My wife and I sat in both the sports and multi-contour seats, and she strongly preferred the multi-contour seats. While I could do without the extra electronics, the extra $1,200, and like sports seats, I had to admit the multi-countour seats were significantly more comfortable. I strongly recommend you go to the dealer and sit in models with both.

I believe the Sport seats key feature is more prominent side bolsters, which provide more lateral support during "vigorous" driving. Many people like this, but some, particularly larger people, find it more confining and less comfortable, as it is a bit harder to move your position around a bit.

are the comfort seats much softer too? My sport seats are really stiff and bulky (latter part intended of course), as in if you go and turn around to peak at your kids, it won't give much.

Hard to describe, but they clearly have more "padding" for comfort but are still firm. Its not unlike teh feel of a 1.5" mattress pad on top of a firm mattress. The ones I sat in were in an M5, and I found them quite nice (my efforts to convince my wife we should get the M5 too failed miserably).

FWIW, I did find the X5 sports seats to be firmer but less sporty than those in my 330i in the sense that the side and bottom bolsters were less prominent (which no doubt make ingress/egress easier). The firmness difference could simply be due to wear and use on my 330i.

Mentioned this in the other order thread, but placed my order 8/27. The wait has been long, and it continues tonight. Hopefully production starts in a few weeks or less. Options are in my sig.
