Hi us_matrix,

I'm a newbie and a new member of this forum. I'm glad to have found this thread. Is it confirmed that this video interface unit works with 2010 X5 model? As I don't have OEM Navigation, I'm very interested in this unit.

Regards.

do you have an installation guide for the '10 X5 already?

Yes, I can start a 2nd group buy. I will start taking deposit of $30 by paypal in order to get the ball rolling. As soon as I get 5 deposits. I will contact everyone of you to pay the rest to start the ordering process.

For the camera, I can get it for you same price $79 with free shipping.
For 2010 new iDrive, the unit is different with round connector and will cost little more. The group buy price is $350.

Give me your email and i will send you the instruction.

Video Interface Unit for 2010 X5

I understand that someone of you might have received the X5 video interface units ordered by us_matrix. I would appreciate it very much if you could post your feedback on the installation of the unit that works with the new iDrive of 2010 X5.

Thanks in advance.

SilentSea:

Sorry that I can't post any feedback yet on the installation.

I was "Tail-End Charlie", the last (I think) person to get in on the first buy. Everything that Raymond (us_matrix) did was first class, and shipped (by Raymond) promptly. So, I have the video interface unit.

Unfortunately, the Chinese had the audacity to schedule their New Year's celebration to conflict with their shipping of the camera. So we are delayed about one more week waiting for the Chinese to ship the camera.

I will post more information as soon as I get the camera and do the installation. Meanwhile, I suggest that you contact us_martix and have him send you the installation information package. I have a 2008 X5, but I understand that the major difference in the 2010 is that one plug is round, rather than flat. I'm not sure how they are handling that, either with an adapter and a new cable or with a different jack on the video interface unit. Maybe us_matrix can also give you more information on that.

One word of caution if you haven't read the entire thread. The price us_matrix is charging ($320.00 for video unit, plus $15.00 for shipping for the 2007-2009, $350 plus shipping for the 2010) DOES NOT include the camera (another $79, shipping included). That is clear in the thread, but only if you have read the whole thing.

Jim M.

i agree with jim M. Dealing with US Matrix has been excellent. He keeps you infomed about the status of the order, as well as diy instructions. I have not recieved the camera as of yet for the reason Jim M stated but have recieved the video unit. I live in the Toronto area , so my shipping was about $37. I plan to get the system installed at an auto elctronics
shop like Kromer Radio. On a side note, I have a non-nav 2009 x5 30i
and am wondering if the installation of this system affects the warranty
in any way on the X5 ?
