I don't know whether to feel envious or sorry for your SA.

First you are going to show up in a short skirt. But he's probably getting fat on all the Italian pastries

Good luck. I hope it's a simple and quick fix.

Mine came on again last week. Took it in and the NOX sensor was replaced. Part was not backordered, so got it back the next day.

No pastries or short skirt this time. It's only February, the Christmas gift is still in effect. And I'm going in on Friday, jeans on Friday.

CEL Light on X35d CPO- Should I buy?

Hello all-

I am new to this forum, but not to BMW's (I have a 2000 E39 M5 with 43k miles on it), and am about to purchase an '09 X5 35d buy-back from my local BMW dealer. It has 27k miles on it and is loaded, but after reading all these posts and hearing from him that it was a buy-back due to a brake light that wouldn't go out (1st owner lost confidence in it after 1 year of repeated problems with that light), so I'm a little concerned. Then, when I took it for a test drive, I notice the yellow engine light was on. They told me today it has a bad EGR valve and they want to keep it for a week and make sure there are no issues with it or they won't sell it to me. They have made it a CPO so the warranty is extended to 100k miles. Seems like an overall good deal, but now I am starting to wonder.... Are a lot of people having problems with their 35d's or is it just a few that are talking here to try to figure out what is going on? I've gotten some great info on the E70 here, but I am just looking for some feedback before I make my final decision. Thanks in advance.

Another thought on my post above: The dealer said they wanted to keep the truck for a week to drive it and make sure there were no issues after they replace the EGR valve. I was thinking of asking them to let me drive it for at least half the week-- kind of an extended test drive. That way they'll get to hear if there are any issues, and it will be a confindence builder (or killer) for me before I buy it. You think its a good idea? You think they will do it?

I would run from this deal, not walk. You could buy mine with 5500 miles and it's loaded. I'm trading in about a month for a loaded Lexus GX 460.
