Use NavTweak to change the GPS menu text. Get a copy and use it, you'll see how it works.

Jochen, you are right only partly - the character set in the nav supports traditional latin characters BY DEFAULT only. BUT if you want - you can draw your OWN character set (any type and style), using navtweak. Here you can see Russian version: http://www.gren.ru/project%20mk4%20rus.html

So I spent Xmas translating text strings and burning CDs, and here's what I got:

MKIII version (based om v29 immage), custom splash screen, Danish menu text (navtweak'ed) and Danish female voice (from a dk_f.csf I obtained on the Internet). I've replaced the Deutch option with Danish).

Everything seems to work, apart from 1) Translation of the TV module text and 2) TMC messages are now in Deutch.

Any hints as to how I fix (translate) the TV module and how I get Danish TMC messages?

Hej

After some time I'm back here to see if any other Danes have joined... and I'm very happy to see that the future looks good :-)
For about half a year ago I also found a danish lady voice inside some other "Naviteq" image I found on the net somewhere... and I also managed to swap the german language file to danish...
But after awhile I noticed that not all words seams to be in the file, one example is the motorway names, eg. E45... In English I remember the navi tells me something like: "Turn right to follow the E45", but with my Danish language file all that is said it "Drej til hřjre"/"Turn right"... and there is a small pause, which to me indicate that the navi tries to play the rest of the words, but it is just blank in the file... I think I also tried to use the TweakSound utility to look for the missing words, and I found them, but they were blank...

So if your sound file is better than mine, then please do share :-)

Regarding the text you described, I actually also startet to translate the huge language file, but got bored and a bit confused along the way, but I do remember TMC messages, so I'm quite sure they can be translated, I will look into it soon and get back to you.

Venlig hilsen, Kind regards,
Heino Walther

Yes. You can also draw Greek, Latin, Indian, Martian, Venetian, and the small obscure language used by the nomadic tribes of Alpha Centuri 5.
