Not sure, but on the 2006-1 Europe High disk the icons are stored in TPD\nccB_eu_20050726\Icons\RR. They are PNG files and you can replace the files directly. The nccB_eu_xxxxxxxx folder name appears contain the date of the map data in yyyymmdd format, the name on the 2006-2 disk is 20060126.

The Nav is VERY sensitive to the way the DVD is burnt. Most people find that using a good quality DVD, like Verbatim, burnt at the slowest speed you can will work. However, if I do that with my DVD burner it does not work, I have to burn at 16x otherwise it won't work. Bottom line is, it's trial and error - to make sure you can burn the disk, try making a direct copy of a known working disk first.

Hi Guys,

Just so eveyone knows... I've posted a thread over on the North American Motoring forums with a how-to article on updating the vehicle icon in the MINI Cooper. Due credit was given to nomad for his most excellent NavTweak program and also to M1TCH for use of his wonderful MINI icon.

Thanks again for everyone's help and keep up the great work!

Nomad and all that contributed firstly thanks for an excellent interface we have come a long way in a short period of time after years of starring at the old Logo and in my Rover sorry guys but BMW just did not look right

Now a chalenge to take it to the next level

Can Navtweak do more?

I posted this
http://www.xoutpost.com/showpost.php?...8&postcount=16

Could NavTweak be enhanced to create or alter specific files on the firmware CD to recode Monochrome to Colour? would that be really really useful to people out there, I think so

Then the ultimate question, that would be useful to MG Rover and maybe Land/Range Rover owners?
There are lots and lots or Rover MK3 units out there with locked firmware (a crippled version 17). If you try to use a BMW update CD it spits them out.
I guess the boot loader or something on the CD does not match, I can get hold of a Rover firmware CD and you have no idea how incredibly useful it would be if we could upgrade Rover units to turn them back into the BMW MK3 equivalents they probably once were.

Try looking at "rom_bitmaps", not "rom_icons".

This navboot ?
V_2\RR\0101\BMWC01S\app_sw

And the details I have are for the replacement image :
width 400 x height 234 x depth 8bit single frame GIF @ 92dpi

Any problem with a 70k GIF inserted in ? Mine seems to be 400x234@256 colours(8bit) - but only 72dpi
